Achyranthes arborescens

Chaff Tree is a sparingly branched soft-wooded tree growing to 9 m tall. The leaves are yellow-green to dark green, elliptic to slightly lance-shaped, 5-8 cm long and 2-3.5 cm broad. The flowers are white or pale yellow, with a pale amber perianth, and 20-90 flowers per inflorescence. The flowers are enclosed by shining pink, sharp-pointed bracts.
